The instructions may look a little daunting because it shows and exploded view, but the unit comes partially assembled and installed pretty easily. Bonus was I was able to make it work with the Denali light bar by using a combination of hardware from both products.

Probably the most well thought-out and attractive (and functional of course) headlight protector you can get for your GS/GSA. It's almost a mandatory accessory to have over anything else, simply because the headlight assembly looks awfully expensive to replace.

It took me about 20 minutes to install this. Very stout and solid guard. I’d highly recommend it to any 1250gs owner. After getting hit with a rock in the shoulder from a truck I realized if it had hit the headlight I’d be out some big money. I also love the way this one works and looks.

I thought I'd go cheap and buy a $50 guard off of Amazon. It arrived damaged and very cheap feeling. Returned said product and purchased the LoneRider guard. Love the headlight guard but have not yet installed it as I have a set of Clearwater Darla lights on a bracket under the beak of my 1250GS. The bottom part of the Lone Rider bracket needs to go into the same hole that is holding the Clearwater light bracket and unfortunately the bolts that came with the kit are not long enough. So I am still busy making a plan and once I have it on I will let you know how I did it and how well it works. Thanks again. Roman

Looks so good on the bike, install was a breeze - seems there was a running production change to make it easier to get it attached to the bike - and I love knowing my (very expensive to replace!) headlight is protected!

First this is an solid piece of kit and does protect the very expensive headlight.
However, I have the upper Outback MotoTek crash bars installed on my GS. These have a cross bar that runs under the beak and ties the left and right bars together. To install this, you drop a bolt down through the hole on each side behind the turn signal, the same hole that the light guard uses. Lone Rider has now begun to spot weld a nut to the bottom of the light guard bracket making it impossible to drop the bolt through to mount the cross bar for the upper crash bars. Contacted Lone Rider and their answer was to grind the nut off. I did this however, in the process of grinding the nut off I also removed all of the protective coating on the bracket. I find it concerning that a company will tell you to take a grinder to a $200 product.
The guard is mount and does what it is designed for, I just expected more from the company and for the price.

The mounting/installation instructions could have been more complete. I have the BMW factory fog lights which share the same bolt with the headlight guard. Your instructions do not address this situation.

Well made. Easy to install once you figure out how to slip the bracket back behind the light assembly. Install took about 10 min total. Only thing missing that would be a nice touch if included would be some silicone lube for the rubber grommets holding the front hinged components. Rubber is super stiff and the grommets want to pull out the hole given the friction. Might loosen over time. Nice knowing they are super secure while riding but will need some lube to keep them working smooth. Not cheap, but the quality is evident and so far I’m glad I went with this option. 10/10 would recommend.

Very frustrating to fit due to small spaces and large fingers to fit. Would suggest casing the bottom nuts into the plastic supports. That said love the product and love the look. I have been told I am more noticeable now when riding

Love the look! Fit and finish is great! Nicely packaged. Left and right brackets have been updated with a round threaded boss to go in the hexagon hole. Just have to reach up from under neath and push up on the edge of the plastic to get the bracket in, then use the bolt to pull it down in place. EASY.

I’ve only ridden my r1250 gsa a few miles since installing the headlight protector but I can tell you that the install was straight forward and easy, and it functions as expected. I put a bit of olive oil on the rubber bumpers to help the plate snap in place more easily.

Almost easy to mount, except I had already installed SW Motech crash bars and the upper bars use the same mounting location. I had to drill the threads out of the nuts welded on the lower bracket and used a slightly longer socket head cap screw and flat washer going down from the top to hold everything together. Once I figured that out it was easy. Looks great.
